Black Up

Hi There!

I work as a cosmetics allocator and I was very fortunate for the company 'Black Up' to send me a fantastic parcel with a load of goodies for me to try!

Black Up are a French company who make cosmetics for women of colour, so there are loads of bright blushers and fantastic strong lip colours!
However, they do cater for white women too by offering lighter shades of their foundations and all the other products can be adapted to how you want.

In my amazing parcel there was the following items, so if you want to pick them up (Oxford Street is where they have a stand) so you can see how amazing they are for yourself, then this is what to ask for!:

Black Up Matifying Fluid Foundation in NFL 01
Black Up Waterproof Smoky Khol Pencil in KS 01
Black Up Volumizing and Lengthening Mascara in MAV1
Black up Lipshine in LPS 05
Black Up Lip Lacquer in VL11
Black up Lip Lacquer in VL03
Black Up 2 in 1 Lip Pencil in JUM1 1 (Burgundy)
Black Up 2 in 1 Lip Pencil in JUM08 (Pink)

So here are a few tutorials, literally to just showcase the products and show you exactly how good they are! I really do recommend the lip colours and the mascara is fantastic for lengthening those lashes!
If you don't usually use eyeliner then this one is a great place to start, it's easy to get a straight line, it's long lasting and doesn't smudge!

I do apologise for the bad webcam! So I have posted before and after pictures so you can see more clearly :)

Pink 2 in 1 Lip Pencil - This is so beautiful, it has a rich, creamy texture and it lasted for hours and hours! It was nice and bold but not too much!

I really hope that you guys do check out Black Up, it's a fantastic brand and the products truly are great!

An Unusual Morning

Yesterday I had to wake up at the crack of dawn to attend a medical appointment in Harley Street and expecting it to be just a formal meeting, I didn’t exactly jump up and down with joy.
However, on arrival, I was greeted by a lovely man who directed me to the lounge/reception area which was utterly beautiful and whilst I waited I sat down with my book and nestled into the comfy armchair.
On meeting the eye specialist, I didn’t expect for any talk other than about my eyes but after half an hour he already knew my life story, how me and my ex broke up, why I chose my course at uni, my dream job and my hobbies.
Then talk about my other half began and he suggested we should get engaged, I totally agreed and then we moved on to the Catholic Church..don’t ask how.
Within 40 minutes I had contact details for his brother, who was in my field of work and the opportunity to work for him was on the cards.
After putting drops in my eye to enlarge my pupils, he let me have a 20 minute break to grab some breakfast as we had spoken about how I didn’t have time in the morning for any and I headed off to a cute little cafe around the corner for a cream cheese bagel.
Now imagine me, in the shop window of a cafe with a wooly hat and sunglasses on because the light was killing my eyes, I couldn’t see my phone screen and my own fingers looked blurry..I looked a state and I’m sure people thought I was on some sort of drug!
After heading back to finish my eye examination, I was left without a phone, as I couldn’t see the screen which meant I had no map to get me back to the tube.
Que me walking around in circles, covering my eyes and shouting on the phone to my mum
‘It’s so bright!! Make it stop!’
I found the tube eventually….
My early morning rise was worth it for my chat with Mr. Starr, he sort of made my day!

Happy Birthday Momma

It was my momma’s birthday this weekend, hence the lack of blogging! but I am now back in London :)
We had a lovely lunch out in a little Bistro in Stafford called ‘Pastiche’ and the food was lovely and homely and the cupcakes I had made for my mum in a lovely cream and mint green colour scheme made for the perfect pudding.
The day was spent lazily opening presents and reminiscing on old times and she sure loved her Pandora bracelet, Jo Malone bath oils and a bunny shaped sink drainer.
A vintage tea cup and matching cake stand were also opened alongside a Laura Ashley apron and some cute slippers with matching PJ’s.
Saturday evening followed into a lovely meal out at The Swann, it never disappoints and the food is divine.
The oriental sharing platter was so up my street and the paella made me feel like I was in a unique restaurant on the cobbled streets of Spain.
To full for dessert we headed home to sit snuggled on the sofa watching the X-Factor.

I have returned to London stress free and with a load of plans, I want a night out with my girls, but where to go? I want to visit the Breakfast Club in Soho again on Saturday morning, I want to finish my report and update my Peeptoes and Petticoats blog with blog reviews and I want to make a lovely meal on Sunday night for my flatmates!
This week I have so much to do in regards to Uni work that I am not going to do any overtime at work so I can catch up and get back on track but next week I will be working more and getting back into a routine before I book my train back home!
I can’t wait to see my boy, oh how I miss him!

Quick Note

Being back in London is amazing, I'm already used to the tube travel and the running around and tbh, I'm loving it!
I'm already starting to dress better...it must be the London air.
I'm almost sorted with the flat and everything, got all the last minute bits and got into a routine of cleaning and how to use the washing machine..first load was done tonight :)
Getting back into lectures isn't as hard as I expected as I'm pretty confident that I'm going to enjoy the up and coming modules and find them really beneficial!

I now have a job at River Island Oxford Circus, I was offered the role yesterday for the ladieswear department! So expect many posts about up and coming events and my new uniform and my wish list.

My momma got me the new Chanel mascara and it is just fantastic, it's the
'Le Volume De Chanel' and my eyelashes have never been so long or volumous! and that is just after one coat. So a must buy in regards to my beauty spots.

Now I have many a new items of clothing so over the weeks, expect photos and outfit posts.

However, the main thing on my to do list is blog more.

Back To London

I'm off back to London on sunday and cannot wait to get back into the London life of tube travel, Oxford Street, Soho and cinema nights on Wednesdays with my girls.

I'm excited to be back in class and keeping up to date with retail news and getting closer and closer to my placement year at Debenhams.

I'm surprised that I'm also looking forward to winter arriving because I can't wait to stay in with movies and hot chocolates and walking to class in my very now oversized coat and chunky knits and bobble hats.
I can't wait to blog every day and start wearing all the key trends again and get back into my photography.
